The occasion of the role of Saudi women and girls in the field of science
Date : 2023-02-08 Time : 10:00:00On Wednesday, 7/17/1444 AH, Turabah College University held an event for the role of Saudi women and girls in the field of science, with the participation of several departments, including the Biology Department, which organized an exhibition (Biology for Life) under the supervision of female faculty members and the participation and organization of female students. The collection included many applied presentations, including the Anatomy of frogs - Extraction of DNA from plants - Extraction of rose water - Using algae as cosmetic products. The role of criminal insects in detecting crimes was also introduced. On the other hand, the students presented educational brochures about blood groups and blood donation. The exhibition also introduced the attendees to plant and animal tissues under a light microscope. A presentation of examples of Saudi female scientists with achievements in the scientific field was prepared.
The Department of Chemistry also organized a workshop entitled (The Role of Saudi Women in Scientific Research by the Kingdom's Vision 2030), within the framework of student activities and the activities of the Scientific Departments and on International Women's Day in the field of science. Dr. Magda Abdel Latif and Dr. Marwa Al-Jundi, with the participation of several students from the Chemistry Department.
At the end of the event, the Vice Dean of the College honored the participating students, Her Excellency Dr. Fawzia Al-Bogami, in recognition of their efforts and motivation for them.
