Definition

The e-learning department promotes the use of educational techniques in the educational process through the development of an ambitious plan to cope with the successive changes in the Kingdom and linking it to the vision of the Kingdom 2030 and the National Transformation 2020 project.

Objectives

The Deanship strives to achieve strategic sub-goals emanating from the strategic objectives of Taif University through the implementation of several initiatives that serve the achievement of these objectives as follows:

1. Improving the quality and outputs of education
- Enable the University to implement modern education strategies based on optimal employment of technology in the educational process
- Improving the quality of electronic courses and enriching educational content


2- Raise the efficiency of human resources and infrastructure
- Improving the quality of e-learning services
- Developing and developing human resources and raising the competencies of the university employees


Departement tasks

  1. Management of educational systems in Taif University
  2. Integration between the university system and educational systems (SIS and Blackboard)
  3. Coordinate with the implementing agencies of the educational systems projects and their receipt and management
  4. Implementation, follow-up and technical support on the project of providing courses through the virtual classroom system
  5. Activating the modern tools and features of the educational systems with a view on how to publish them to the university employees
  6. Preparing periodic reports on the activation and use of the educational systems of the colleges and branches of the university
  7. Developing the skills of faculty members on the optimal employment of technology in education
  8. oordination and follow-up - technical only - with e-learning units in faculties
  9. Holding training workshops for colleges in coordination with the training unit of the Deanship
  10. Respond to queries and problems of students and faculty members on the system of support services and all communication channels of the department
  11. Developing the capabilities of the services and training support team for educational systems
  12. Provide advice to students and faculty on how to use the new courses within the educational systems.
  13. Cooperation with the other departments of the Deanship in implementing the vision and mission of the Deanship

Department Units

It is divided into two parts:

  1. Educational Systems Management Unit
  2. Development and Training Unit

Function of the Educational Systems Management Unit

  1. Supervision and management of educational systems in Taif University
  2. Integration between the university system and educational systems (SIS and Blackboard)
  3.  Coordinate with the implementing agencies of the educational systems projects and their receipt and management
  4. Preparing periodic reports on the activation and use of the educational systems of the colleges and branches of the university
  5. Respond to queries and problems of students and faculty members on the system of support services and all communication channels of the department
  6. Provide direct advice to students and faculty on how to use certain features within systems.
  7.  Activate modern tools and features for educational systems
  8. Implementation, operation and follow-up of the Unit's initiatives
  9. Support for faculty and students
  10. To perform other tasks unless the main tasks, especially the response to the service support system, are violated.

Functions of the Development and Training Unit

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive training plan covering all e-learning systems and tools and other technical skills needed to properly utilize systems
  2. Develop a vision of how to activate the tools and modern features of the educational systems of the employees of the university within the faculties
  3.  Provide any suggestions to improve the performance and raise the efficiency and skills of the staff of the university
  4. Implementation, operation and follow-up of the Unit's initiatives
  5. To perform other tasks unless the main tasks, especially the response to the service support system, are violated.

  7.  Conducting realistic and one-on-one sessions (BB Collaborate) for female students to explain the latest developments within the systems and follow up the work process
