The Taif rose is considered the fragrant scent, and the distinctive pink mark that attracts tourists. The Taif rose has undergone many research and scientific studies to develop it, to reach a product that has a significant impact on the development of the individual and society, to advance Saudi industrial products to the global level, and to achieve leadership in the Taif rose and its products through directing research, which aims to deepen the culture of rose cultivation and scientific methods to increase The product, tracking its agricultural problems, and studies that make the Taif rose an economic supporter of sustainable development.
The Taif rose research continued to develop the processes of extracting oils from the Taif rose by applying modern methods, extraction with super and subcritical liquids, microwave extraction, ultrasonic extraction, conducting research to protect roses from microbial, parasitic and insect diseases, and researching salinity resistance in Taif rose plants using gibberellic acid, and research for evaluating the effectiveness of treatment with silver nanoparticles in combating leaf rust disease of the Taif rose plant, and publishing scientific papers on genetic diversity within and between Taif rose clans, methods of rose propagation and others.
The work on the Taif rose expanded to hold many workshops and seminars in the extraction of Taif rose oil, the development of its cultivation methods, and the biological control of pests threatening the rose, these works expanded to develop the skills of the Taif rose growers and those who interested in the perfume industries and by-products related to the Taif rose, and provide the farmers with practical, applied skills and theoretical knowledge, Knowing and developing the experiences transferred from the old Taif rose producers to build a bridge of communication between them and recent workers in this field .
In its talking with the Saudi Press Agency "SPA", Taif University confirmed that the university's care comes through the Taif Rose Chair, which works to achieve global leadership for the Taif rose and its products by directing research and scientific studies to develop the Taif rose industry, and to reach a product that has a significant impact on the development of the individual and society, and to provide Saudi industrial products to the global level . The university explained that the Taif Rose Chair aims to conduct developmental research for rose products, hold workshops and scientific seminars in the field of oil extraction methods using modern methods, conduct research to protect roses from microbial, parasitic and insect diseases, develop the skills of Taif rose growers, and develop those, who interested in perfume industries and products related to Taif roses, and providing students and farmers with applied practical skills .
