Prof. Asiri participates in the 24th meeting of presidents of universities in the GCC countries

TU President, Prof. Yousef bin Abdo Asiri, participated in the 24th meeting of presidents and directors of universities and higher education institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was held at Jazan University.

The meeting comes within the framework of cooperation between GCC universities. It aims for exchanging knowledge and administrative experiences to develop education and achieve integration among GCC universities, through the training of university employees and their students, according to the latest educational methods.

The presidents of GCC universities discussed the implementation of the Council's decisions in its previous two sessions related to higher education, and the decisions of the ministers of higher education and scientific research in the GCC countries.

They also discussed the efforts of universities and higher education institutions in the GCC countries to confront the emerging Corona virus pandemic, and the actions they took to organize the management of distance education.

The presidents and directors of universities were briefed on the recommendations of the University Vice-presidents’ Committee, with the participation of Taif University’s Vice-President, Prof. Ibrahim Al-Qarni. The contents of the work of the technical committees working under the umbrella of the Cooperation Council were discussed, and the presidents and directors of universities and educational institutions took appropriate decisions regarding them.
