The importance of artificial ventilation equipment in reducing COVID-19 effects

Taif University, represented by the colleges of Engineering, Medicine and Applied Medical Sciences and the Deanship of Community Service, organized, in cooperation with the Saudi Council of Engineers, represented by the Coordination Committee in the Taif Governorate, a symposium entitled: "Artificial respirators and their role in reducing the effects of the Corona virus on the infected."
The symposium was held on 12 May 2020 through the Taif Virtual University platform, in the presence of 180 participants and participants, within the initiative of the Saudi Council of Engineers to "manufacture ventilators", and participated by the Armed Forces Hospital in Al Hada, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Jeddah.
The symposium aimed at engaging government sectors in developing a vision, goals and strategic initiatives to work on designing and manufacturing a local artificial ventilators characterized by accuracy and simplicity, and at the same time aimed at spreading awareness among society groups to prevent the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The symposium included ten sessions, as the student at the College of Applied Medical Sciences at Taif University, Saud Al-Otaibi, presented an “introductory overview of the Corona virus,” while the laboratory technician and member of the volunteer team at Taif University, Mada Al-Shafi’i, presented a definition of corona virus detection tests, while Dr. Marwa Eid reviewed, The student, Nusseibeh Waznah, from the college of Applied Medical Sciences, means of physical therapy used to improve breathing in patients (COVID-19).
