Taif University discusses increasing employability of medical and surgical graduates

The Professional Advisory Committee at TU’s College of Medicine discussed ways to increase the employability of graduates of the College of Medicine and the Surgery program, incorporate the health care system in the program, and facilitate clinical training activities for program students and graduates.

In its second meeting, the Advisory Committee distributed questionnaires to measure the degree of satisfaction with the graduates of the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery program and reviewed recommendations of the members of the Committee and what has been improved based on the recommendations.

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, Prof. Sulaiman Al-Omran, recommended a set of proposals to achieve excellence for the program, instill a competitive spirit and morale among the graduates, and raise their aspirations for excellence.

The meeting ended with the inclusion of many recommendations to be applied by the College in the development process and improvement plans for the program of the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, while ensuring the continuity and complementarity of the work of the Committee, and follow-up implementation of the recommendations.

The meeting was attended by members of the Advisory Committee of specialists and representatives of various bodies of health leaders in the armed forces hospitals, health affairs in Taif province, employers, and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, who advise faculty members to develop, improve and review the program, which contributes to the success of graduates in their future career.

The Advisory Committee aims to activate the role of the College of Medicine at TU, promote its academic programs, strengthen the partnership between the college and the public and private sectors, and provide an opportunity for students to acquire skills as well as field and clinical experience.
