TU signs an agreement and 3 MOUs with Saudi and American universities

Taif University signed an agreement with an American university and memorandums of understanding with three Saudi universities during its participation in the International Exhibition and Conference of Higher Education currently held in Riyadh. Salih Al-Thubaiti, TU’s official spokesman and supervisor of its pavilion in the exhibition, said that the memorandums of understanding were signed by TU President Dr. Husam Zaman with the presidents of Princess Noura Bint Abdulrahman University, King Khalid University, and Al-Majmaa University. Dr. Iman Al Zahrani, Vice President for Female Student Affairs, signed the joint agreement with the representative of George Washington University.

Al-Thubaiti noted that the signing of the agreement and memorandums of understanding was a translation of the principle of cooperation and exchange of experiences and competencies between Taif University and leading universities in the world and Saudi Arabia to serve the public interest and support the progress and development in the Kingdom and in accordance with high-level directives to promote cooperation and coordination between government institutions. He also stressed that this step is in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020, whose most important features are developing education and improving its outputs to keep abreast of cultural progress, as well as the achievement of quality academic performance. Al-Thubaiti revealed that the agreement signed with George Washington University included many academic and research fields, the most important of which are the professional development of TU faculty members and supporting TU’s efforts to evaluate programs, obtain accreditation for its colleges of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, applied medical and graduate programs. The agreement also includes cooperation in joint research projects, admission of TU medical students to summer training programs at George Washington University, as well as cooperation in research, medical education and other training programs.

The memorandum of understanding signed with Princess Noura Bint Abdulrahman University aims to activate the scientific and research cooperation between the two universities in providing technical and advisory services, setting up scientific and training courses, exchanging students and researches of common interest. The memorandum of understanding signed with King Khalid University aims to activate the scientific and research cooperation between the two universities and exchanging the specialized expertise and competencies available to them in providing various services in the fields of technical and consulting services. With regard to the memorandum of understanding signed with Al-Majmaa University, Al-Thubaiti said that the memorandum specified areas of cooperation between the two universities in training services, academic research, information technology and systems, as well as in the areas of quality and academic accreditation.
