Launch of the First Annual Forum for the Teaching of English at Taif University

The director of Taif UniversityDr. Hosam ibn Abdulwahab Zaman, confirmed that the university's interest in teaching English is not only for its academic importance but also because it is a gateway for university students to be ambassadors of their culture and homeland and it enhances the across cultures dialogue.

 
This came in a speech delivered by the Director of the University  during the inauguration of the first annual forum for teaching English which organized by the University, represented by the English Language Center in the Deanship of Supportive Studies and in collaboration with Cambridge University. The forum entitled "Active Learning"

 
On the other hand the Dean of the Deanship of Supportive  Studies, Head of the English Language Center, Dr. Mansour Al-Malki, stressed the important role of such scientific meetings with the internationally considered  specialized bodies, which contributes directly to providing faculty members with the necessary competencies to develop and imoprve their academic work in a standardized manner.

 
The Dean of Supportive Studies also emphasized the keenness of Taif University to frame the academic work practices in all aspects and benefit from international specialized experiences and to engage the faculty members in professional development courses on an ongoing basis to raise the level of the academic performance in general.

 
Dr. Al-Malki also referred that they qualified a number of  Saudi male and female teacher assistants, lecturers and language teachers who are accredited as instructors by Cambridge University.  He also added that this will ensure the sustainable academic development of English language at Taif University in the future.

 
In this regard Dr. Al-Malki also referred to the continuous support of the university director Dr. Hossam ibn Abdul Wahab Zaman and the ongoing follow-up of Dr.  Abdulrahman Al Asmari - the vice president for academic and development affairs, and their constant directives in this field to develop the capabilities of the faculty members and raise the quality of their performance.

 
Vice-President of the English Language Center , Dr. Reem Al-Khamash, pointed out that the Saudi female instructors were distinguished in the training of trainers course and obtained a training license from Cambridge University.

 
Dr. Al-Khammash confirmed that obtaining this license will contribute to the training of all English Language Center members in the future.  in a scientific and thoughtful manner. It's also to the serve the community through training courses that can be delivered to the general education teachers.
