The College of Medicine applies clinical simulation techniques and plans to establish a Standard Patient Hospital

Prof. Dalal Nemenqani , the Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Taif, confirmed that the KSA is  ranked first in the Arab countries in the application of clinical simulation techniques and the adoption of such modern techniques in education and medical training. Taif University founded an advanced  Center of Clincial  Skills and Simulation in the College  of Medicine. This Center is a specialized for teaching and training of different clinical skills for medical students and physicians in a real clinical environment, that ensure the safety of patients, and to provide the trainees a safe and stimulating learning environment through simulation programs. This training can provide a similar medical reality scenarios using  human patient simulation mannequin for clinical training.

Prof. Dalal Nemenqani  added that the college of Medicine plans to attract and train Arabic and English-speaking standard patients and contract them with long-term contracts. On the other hand,  a digital audio-visual monitoring system has been installed for photographing and recording steps of examination and interview trainees with the assumptions of patients for monitoring which can be managed from a central room

Prof. Nemenqani highlighted  the future plans regarding the foundation of a virtual hospital that will include emergency rooms, intensive care for adults, infants and children. It will also include rooms for childbirth, and other operations with full medical equipments, in addition to planning for the use of virtual simulation to strengthen scientific aspects and clinical experience.
