Department of Media and Communication Sciences

 

was established in 1437H, and the first batch of students was received in the first semester of the academic year 1438 AH / 1439H through the new media course. The belief is that we should keep abreast of the rapid development in the media and due to the needs of media organizations for competencies.

The student is specialized in the new media track in the content industry and its management in terms of media editing in social media and electronic journalism, as well as in creative design, motion picture production, and short films. Emphasis will be placed on the practical aspect and the adoption of social responsibility theory through community initiatives.

One of the steps taken by the University administration is to study the need of the labor market for specialists in the new media.

The needs of the labor market have been studied through communication with a selected sample of major government media organizations, leading media organizations, and private sector organizations specialized in content management in the new media to give a vision of the need of the labor market for professionals so as to deal with the new media in terms of media content industry and its administration.
