The Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Forensic medicine is a common section for clinical research and learning. About 50% of our faculty have an M.D. and 50% a Ph.D. with the latter holding joint appointments in other departments in the University.


VISION

The vision of the department is to become a top- academic center in the disciplines of pharmacology, toxicology and forensic medicine in Asia and beyond. This vision not only to prepare the undergraduate students for their future success in life through a host of up-to-date courses in these branches, but also help them to develop scientific attitude so that they can serve Health-related professions in the best possible way, thereby improving the quality of life. This is in keeping with the vision of School of medicine and Taif University.


Objectives

  • To disseminate knowledge to medical graduated students through quality teaching with emphasis on self-reliance and continued self-education.
  • Identify the basics of in vivo processes and drug interactions.
  •  To learn about toxicology and its applications.
  • Knowledge of forensic science and its applications.
  • To acquire new knowledge in Pharmacology, toxicology and forensic medicine by conducting and promoting innovative research.
  • To participate in the running of the School and University through administrative service in the School and University committees.
