About Program

The Architecture Engineering Program was established during the 2018-2019 academic year. The program is currently running under the Department of Civil Engineering. It was established for economic, social, cultural, and technological reasons, and national needs and development, etc. Governorate of Taif is very huge area, it belongs to Emirate of Mecca, and close to Jeddah as an economic capital city of Saudi Arabia, it’s like other province has the same concern of improvements from the government in order to improve and enhance the engineering industry, and to improve the cadres of engineers too. The reasons of establishing the Program can be summarized as follows:

1- To compensate the shortage in Architecture engineers in the Kingdom.

2- To reduce the level of dependency on the foreign engineers.

3- To graduate engineers qualified for higher CE studies (M.Sc., Ph.D., … etc)

4- To be able to carry out technological development plans of the Kingdom.

5- As a part of the national policy development plan.

 

The total Credit Hours for Completing the Program  is 152 Credit Hrs, that is achieved by 6000 learning Hours, which is the length of time that a learner takes to complete learning activities that lead to achievement of program learning outcomes, such as study time, homework assignments, projects, preparing presentations, library times.

 

As a main participant in building the future of Saudi Arabia, a section for engineering females was added to the Architectural Engineering Program, starting from its incorporation date, as a step to involve them in the engineering field.
