TU President: Association of University Teaching will institutionalize the preparation of university new members

TU President Dr. Husam bin Abdulwahhab Zaman called upon the new faculty members and University staff returnees to strive to serve TU students and prepare them as active members of society and global citizens in today's highly convergent world by continuously improving their personal abilities and academic aptitude. Dr. Zaman said, "Faculty members and academics are the elite of society: they hold the highest degrees, but this status requires that they provide knowledge, continuously strive to attain it, and maintain the reputation of their community."

TU President stressed the need for the strict adherence to academic standards and ethics in university teaching, academic research and community service, in accordance with the best practices, and to provide an exemplary model for others inside and outside the University.

Dr. Zaman expressed his hope that the Saudi Association for University Teaching, established by Taif University, will play a pivotal role in the efforts to develop university teaching skills for faculty members in all Saudi universities, and that programs to prepare new faculty members and fresh holders of PhDs will turn into an institutional professional work. He pointed out that the Association will provide programs, courses, workshops, and meetings to develop the teaching profession in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020 in the development of education.

In cooperation with a number of deanships, centers, and departments at TU, the Deanship of University Development organized a program of lectures and seminars for new faculty members and PhD holders, outlining the services provided by TU to its employees and the most important regulations in force at the University.

The first part of the program, consisting of open lectures and symposia, included: the University’s vision, development projects, knowledge and University resources, University activities, faculty member rights and duties, University system, academic research and ethics, academic accreditation and quality management system at the University, training and professional development of faculty members.
