Taif University advanced 4 places in the webometrics ranking in the July 2020 update, to reserve its seat among the top 10 Saudi universities.

The global webometrics assessment is the largest system for evaluating international universities through its websites, as it covers more than 20,000 universities and publishes 16,000 of them. The classification is issued in Spain by the Higher Council for Scientific Research. It aims to improve the presence of higher education and scientific research institutions on the Internet and to encourage the publication of refereed scientific articles in an open access method. It is a semi-annual evaluation issued in the months of January and July of each year. It is based on measuring the performance of universities through their websites within the following criteria (size - reference to research - general impact).

On this occasion, TU President, Prof. Yusef bin Abdo Asiri said that Taif University's obtaining this advanced position in the international rankings is a source of thanks to everyone who had a fingerprint in that from the academic and administrative staff, as well as ,from our students.
