TU Acting President: Development is Kingdom-wide!

TU Acting President Prof. Saad Al-Zahrani congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince, on the occasion of the Kingdom's 89th National Day.

Prof. Al-Zahrani pointed to the great successes and developments achieved by the Kingdom within a short period of time under the wise leadership of our land. Such successes include the educational sector, both public and private, in recognition of its importance in preparing generations armed with science and knowledge that contribute to the progress and prosperity of the homeland. He further said that Saudi universities have a responsibility to achieve the ambitious goals and hopes of our homeland.

Prof. Al-Zahrani stressed that TU research production is the best in years, as the number of research papers published in periodicals registered in international databases in 2018 increased to 503, compared to 402 in 2017.

He also pointed to the high number of research papers published in cooperation between TU researchers and international researchers in developed countries, including the United States, where 53 joint researches were published in 2017 and 2018 compared to 28 in 2015 and 2016, as well as the high rate of cited papers produced by TU faculty. According to Scopus, there were 5211 citations of TU papers in 2018, compared to 4633 citations in 2017 and prior.

Prof. Al-Zahrani revealed that TU is fast completing world-class central research laboratories that are eligible for international accreditation to upgrade the university's research outputs.
