The Committees of the Saudi Society for Academic Guidance

1. The Scientific Committee

Duties:

  • To propose editorial commissions and reviewers for the Society’s scientific journals, pamphlets and all other publications of the Society.
  • To propose the scientific program and lecturers of the activities of the Society
  • To execute the duties the Chairperson entrusts to some, or all, the committee members according to their specializations and the best interest of work, without the need to assemble all the committee members.
  • To propose and prepare the seminars, lectures, conferences, studies and scientific competitions in the field of academic guidance and other related fields.
  • To supervise the writing and translation of books and studies that relate to the Society’s aspects and interests.
  • To supervise the publishing of the Society’s scientific journal (The Saudi Journal for Academic Guidance).
  • To nominate the editorial board of the Society’s Journal.
  • To prepare the committee’s annual operational plan, which includes determining the objectives to be realized, the activities to be executed in order to realize these objectives, and the programs specified for executing these activities, including the topics, times, places and methods to be adopted.

2. The Membership Committee

Duties:

  • To increase the members of the Society by attracting new ones.
  • To receive, follow up and complete the procedures of membership applications.
  • To follow up and develop the membership system and member services.
  • To promote the membership system in all ways suitable through the contribution of other concerned committees.
  • To follow up, develop and facilitate the performance of the participation system.
  • To follow up and stimulate the participation process.
  • To establish and manage the members’ database, and to shed light on the ones active in the realization of the Society’s objectives.
  • To communicate with the members using appropriate means and methods.

3. The Training and Consultation Committee

Duties:

  • To determine where training is needed for the Society’s members and those working in the field of academic guidance and other related fields.
  • To prepare and execute the plans, programs and the training and developmental courses for the Society’s members and those working in the field of academic guidance and other related fields.
  • To prepare and execute the various educational and awareness activities (lectures, seminars, workshops, etc.)
  • To coordinate with specialists and trainers, and provide venues for training through coordinating with all parties concerned.
  • To provide consultation regarding academic guidance and other related fields to the Society’s members, other institutions and community members.
  • To prepare the committee’s annual operational plan, which includes determining the objectives to be realized, the activities to be executed in order to realize these objectives, and the programs specified for executing these activities, including the topics, times, places and methods to be adopted.

4. The Marketing (Promotion) and Partnership Committee

Duties:

  • To promote the Society in other establishments and companies through preparing reports on its programs and services.
  • To find sponsors and supporters for the Society and the programs and conferences it holds periodically.
  • To market the society’s publications and services such as training, consultation and programs.
  • To work with the Membership Committee to promote the Society’s membership.
  • To hold partnerships and agreements with other concerned establishments and associations.
  • To prepare the committee’s annual operational plan, which includes determining the objectives to be realized, the activities to be executed in order to realize these objectives, and the programs specified for executing these activities, including the topics, times, places and methods to be adopted.

5. The Public Relations and Media Committee

Duties:

  • To demonstrate the Society’s role, significance and activities through the media.
  • To demonstrate the significance and role of academic guidance through the media.
  • To organize the gatherings, forums, exhibitions, and other activities that support the society’s media activities.
  • To cover all the society’s seminars, conferences and activities through the media.
  • To document and archive the Society’s activities.
  • To coordinate with the general media in covering the activities of the Society.
  • To cover all recent activities and issues in the field of academic guidance in KSA.
  • To prepare and provide the requirements of the Society’s social gatherings.
  •  To prepare the committee’s annual operational plan, which includes determining the objectives to be realized, the activities to be executed in order to realize these objectives, and the programs specified for executing these activities, including the topics, times, places and methods to be adopted.

6. The Technology and Design Committee

Duties:

  • To manage the Society’s website on the Internet.
  • To manage the Society’s accounts and channels on the social media.
  • To prepare the Society’s required technical designs and those of its programs.
  • To prepare the committee’s annual operational plan, which includes determining the objectives to be realized, the activities to be executed in order to realize these objectives, and the programs specified for executing these activities, including the topics, times, places and methods to be adopted.
