Prof. Majed A-Mourgi, is a Professor of surgery , Consultant Thoracic Oncology surgeon and Vice Dean of the College of Medicine, He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons In Ireland in 2003, then he obtained a MD in thoracic surgery from Harvard University, USA in 2007. after which he obtained a thoracic oncology fellowship from University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, USA. He is a current member of the International Society of Thoracic Surgery since 2010 as well as being a member of many different scientific societies, including American College of Chest Physicians and American College of Surgeons ,Chicago. Prof Al-Mourgi has also completed Global transformation leadership program at Houston Methodist,Texas USA 2018. He published many book chapters and scientific research published in different international journals. He held the position of the Executive Director of East Jeddah Hospital- Jeddah, from 2018 to 2020 and worked as Academic and Training Affairs consultant to the Director of Health Affairs in Jeddah Governorate 2019-2020, after several leadership positions at the College of Medicine, Taif University, the latest was Vice Dean for Academic Affairs 2016 then vice dean on 2021. On 28/2/2023, he was appointed as the dean of the college of Medicine for 2 years.
